2026 Montana Artist Books

In 2026, I received a research grant to spend the summer months out west in Montana. While living under big skies, I used this opportunity to create a body of artist books. Experiencing the west through field methodology, I created this series to remember my first time experiencing, sensing, and researching the wild west. Creating books using hand-picked wildflowers to make cyanotypes, hand-drawing maps of Paradise Valley, and sourcing hand-carved leather from local Montana artists, and collecting natural objects from hikes and river wades, these books tell stories of Native American mythology, iconography, as well as native flora and fauna of the region.
